Here’s a little functional springtime craft from Grow A Dream. For the most part, I give away or donate the clothes my daughter grows out of, but sometimes there are those special items that you just can’t part with. She jumped in so many puddles in these boots, and then there was interpretive dance in the giant mud pile during a renovation a couple summers ago. Too many memories to part with so I made her rain boots into a door stop.
We filled the bottom of the boots with cement. Once dry (it may take a couple days) I added some flowers from the dollar store and some decorative stones (also from the dollar store) to hold the flowers in place and to give the boot a bit more weight. Here is the result. I plan to change the flowers up by season just for fun.
